Warning Description: Winter Storm Watch

Warning Date: 8:50 PM PST on February 8, 2010

WarningSum:...Winter Storm Watch Remains In Effect From Tuesday Afternoon
Through Wednesday Morning...

Warning Message:A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Tuesday afternoon
through Wednesday morning. 
* Snow accumulations: will be from 4 to 12 inches. Heaviest snow 
  is most likely across the Tehachapi Mountains. 
* Elevation: snow will begin near the 5000 foot level Tuesday 
  afternoon...then lower to 2500 to 3000 feet Tuesday evening.
* Timing: an area of low pressure will move southeast along the 
  California coast Tuesday. As it intensifies...snow is likely 
  to begin sometime during the afternoon or early evening...
  and continue much of Tuesday night. The low is expected to 
  move east of the area Wednesday morning with snow 
  decreasing...and mostly ending before noon. 
* Locations include: Tehachapi...Frazier Park...Cuddy Valley... 
  Pine Mountain Club...Alta Sierra...Walker Pass.
* Winds: no significant winds are expected.
* Impacts: travel on Interstate 5 over the Grapevine...and
  Highway 58 through Tehachapi Pass could become difficult if 
  not impossible.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to
monitor the latest forecasts.
